reward out for arrests

HEBER CITY -- Six cows in Wasatch County were shot
with arrows near Clyde Creek.
"This is one of the most disturbing acts I've witnessed
in my 16 years of wildlife law enforcement." said Sgt. Paul
Davis of the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources.
The investigation began on Aug. 18 when a cow was seen
with an arrow protruding from its body.
Five more cattle with similar wounds were seen Aug.
25-26, Davis said Friday.
     The cows survived.
Archery clubs and archery-gear makers are offering
a $6,000 reward for information that leads to a conviction.
"They were shot with practice points," Davis said.
"This was target practice, and it gives all ethical bow hunt-
ers a black eye."
